I resized my engagement ring with this invisible $10 Amazon hack

Our team is dedicated to finding and telling you more about the products and deals we love. If you love them too and decide to purchase through the links below, we may receive a commission. Pricing and availability are subject to change.

Like any good newly engaged person, I will make sure everyone knows that I just got engaged. I am also a lifestyle editor by trade, meaning I will also make sure everyone knows the best secret (and budget-friendly) life hacks out there. And one of the best things I just spent my money on is this $10 engagement ring size adjuster from Amazon.

While I’m absolutely obsessed with my engagement ring (a solitaire round lab-grown diamond with a yellow gold band, even if you weren’t curious), it’s a half-size too big. Obviously, I’m wildly stressed about losing the ring. But I’m just not down with the idea of briefly parting with it to get it resized by a jeweler.

The quick and possibly permanent fix is the $10 Invisible Ring Size Adjuster for Loose Rings from Amazon. Basically, it’s a small clear piece of flexible and durable plastic that you “snap” onto the inside of your band. That’s literally all you need to do!

In my experience, the ring size adjuster feels like absolutely nothing on my finger. Honestly, I’ve forgotten that it’s there. While I still take my new engagement ring off while I shower and do my skin care routine, I can keep it on while sleeping and washing my hands.

The Invisible Ring Size Adjuster comes in a package with eight different ring sizers ranging from 1 millimeter to 10 millimeters. It also comes with a polishing cloth as an extra bonus. Who doesn’t love an extra polishing cloth just for,

Radiation in the postwar American mind: from wonder to worry

Blowing up the desert – and people's minds: the first atom bomb test in 1945. <a href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/ctbto/4926598556/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank" data-ylk="slk:US Government" class="link ">US Government</a>
Blowing up the desert – and people’s minds: the first atom bomb test in 1945. US Government

More than seventy five years ago at a remote site in New Mexico, the first test of a nuclear bomb was detonated, producing a massive explosion. The test, which presaged the atomic bombs dropped on Nagasaki and Hiroshima, Japan in August 1945, forever changed the course of world affairs. Subsequent nuclear explosions, and the radioactive fallout they produced, quickly gave rise to worries over the dangers of radiation.

But what does “radiation” mean? And how have attitudes toward radiation changed over time?

The technical definition aside, for most Americans today, it means something like this: energies, often man-made, usually undetectable, that have strange effects on living things. We connect the abstract, physical concept with a personal, biological one. We take special notice when we are exposed to those energies, even briefly.

The early days: a glowing reception

In that sense, the age of radiation began in 1895 with the discovery of X-rays. In the half-century that followed, Americans indulged in optimistic fantasies about the miracles these energies could perform for better health. But they also quickly learned to fear them. On balance, the anxieties have had greater staying power.

Such reactions came from the many direct, personal experiences Americans had with irradiation in an era when radium and X-ray machines were icons of scientific modernity in the early 20th century. They were hailed as the wonders of the age, presented simultaneously as poisons and cure-alls, perpetual motion machines and planet-busting explosives. Radioactive substances (or plausible fakes thereof) were added to dozens of everyday consumer products, including toothpaste and lipstick, to enhance them with the mysterious energies of the atom. X-rays were tools of portraiture at the beauty salon (for

Visit Kampot app a tourism boon

To promote tourist destinations in his home province of Kampot, Hang Panhaka took it upon himself to establish an online social community network and app which introduces new destinations and shares introductions from local business owners.

He believes the application will provide a convenient service to tourists, both domestic and international.

Hang Panhaka, 29, has always wanted to promote tourism in his province since he was in high school.

“When I was at high school, I rarely left home. One day, I found a waterfall in the forest, and it struck me – there is so much beauty all around that needs to be shared with people,” he told The Post.

Since his epiphany, Panhaka has dedicated himself to promoting tourism. He studied tourist management at the Regional Polytechnic Institute Techo Sen Kampot, and expects to be able to use his skills to build something which will benefit his province.

He created the Facebook page Visit Kampot in 2018 after noting that there were not as many visitors as he thought his province deserved, given its spectacular mountain and many natural wonders.

“Even most of our Cambodian visitors don’t know about these hidden gems. They come to visit Kampot but pass by so many destinations that are worth their time,” he said.

He wanted to fill in the gaps and let visitors know more about these attractions, so that more people would take the time to explore the province.

“I realised that a Facebook page could provide information and was a good way of promoting our province to our visitors,” he added.

He started posting information but did not have access to high quality, attractive pictures. This was when he started thinking about the promotional images of famous foreign tourist destinations which he had seen.

This Is How You Keep a Fashion Brand Alive for 25 Years

“Hearst Magazines and Yahoo may earn commission or revenue on some items through the links below.”

It’s a Wednesday morning at the headquarters of 25-year-old contemporary women’s line Tibi, and everything is business as usual. The brand’s tall, ashy-blonde founder, Amy Smilovic, is poring over a rack of clothes with her style director, Sarah Brody. They’re about to depart on a trip to Dubai, where Smilovic will host styling sessions and shoot content for retail partners in the region.

Smilovic is clad in exactly the kind of minimal, sophisticated look that Tibi’s devotees love: a taupe silk shirt tucked into tonal trousers. She adds a nearly identical blouse and pants to the rail, where they join an oversize brown suede bomber, wide-leg blue jeans, and a lavender sweater. Once that’s settled, she and Brody rush into Smilovic’s office to host the brand’s semiweekly Instagram Live, a stream-of-consciousness styling chat that runs for about an hour.

It’s all par for the course for a brand that’s hitting its quarter-century milestone. But most contemporary labels never make it that far. If you glance at the list of designers who showed alongside Tibi during New York Fashion Week in 2008—to pick a year at random—it reads like an in memoriam of names long gone: DooRi, Abaete, Behnaz Sarapfour, Erin Fetherston, Richard Chai, L.A.M.B. Even the brands that survived past the decade mark didn’t have an easy time of it. Milly, which would have stood next to Tibi in department stores, hit its stride dressing Michelle Obama, only to part ways with founder Michelle Smith in 2019. Rebecca Taylor, another feminine midpriced label, saw its founder quit that same year. You could explain these goodbyes as a part of fashion’s life cycle, but that’s not

The Magic Chef mini fridge‘s best feature is excellent temperature control from top to bottom. During our tests, the fridge temperature consistently hovered right around 37°F.

The freezer temperature wasn’t quite as impressive, but it kept things perfectly cool at about -2°F during our testing. Most notably, this model has a properly calibrated freezer—something you won’t often find on mini fridges.

SOUTH PARK ROYALTY: Meghan Markle and Prince Harry to make Met Gala debut this year amidst furore

SANTA BARBARA, CALIFORNIA: After stepping down from royalty in 2021, it appears Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have finally paved their way into Hollywood’s elite list of celebrities. The couple, who decided to move to the States three years ago, has officially been invited to the exclusive Met Gala event this year, as per a report. The invitation to the biggest Hollywood night comes after Prince Harry became a best-selling author following the release of his bombshell memoir ‘Spare.’

Each year the annual event, which is organized by the New York Metropolitan Museum, comes up with a theme that every celebrity in attendance has to honor. The 2023 Met Gala theme is Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty which means that the Hollywood A-listers have to pay tribute to fashion designer, Karl Lagerfeld with their apparel. All in all, Harry and Meghan are certainly among the highest circles of celebrities after the invitation, according to Marca. However, the couple is not the first royal to attend the exclusive event as the late Princess Diana of Wales attended the Met gala in 1996. Moreover, Harry’s cousin Princess Beatrice was also among the many famous socialites to be invited to the 2018 event.
