It truly is my happy place,” said Michael Kors, whose parent company is Capri Holdings Ltd.

New York salons: the best hair salons, nail bars and more

Hair salons that serve up sanctuary and Negronis, nail bars that promote meditation and video art, and an ethereal acupuncture studio are among Wallpaper’s edit of standout New York salons – all offering the best beauty expertise in well-designed spaces.

Sought-after hair salons

Takamichi

If you can manage to snag an appointment with Takamichi Saeki himself, you’ll find yourself with a razor-sharp cut that lasts and lasts. Something of a hairdressing legend, Saeki has clients who fly from all over the world to sit beneath his scissors. A former gallery owner, his love of art shapes not just his chic haircuts but also the look of his second-floor Bowery salon. Designed in collaboration with architect Sandra van Rolleghem in 2012, the space features a wealth of contemporary artworks, including murals by Barcelona-born artist Santi Moix.

Takamichi hair products (which you’ll also find in the bathrooms of buzzy new hotel Nine Orchard, as well as Saeki’s own Gramercy Park retail store Takamichi Beauty Room) are displayed like a cabinet of objets d’art. Book in for the salon’s cutting-edge and deeply rejuvenating Infrared Therapy Deep Conditioning treatment, designed to infuse conditioners deeper into the hair’s cortex using infrared lights and vibrations.

Bradley Scott Rosen has achieved what could have been impossible with his Gramercy Park salon, Minor Rose. Opening in fall 2020 was a brave move. The salon’s success is perhaps due in part to its intimacy: tucked quietly away on a neighborhood street with chairs for just two clients at a time, Minor Rose is without the chaotic chatter and commotion of your usual salon.

Its signature service? A really good haircut, trimmed in peace. This gem of a space was designed by Evan Erlebacher of Also Office. ‘I wanted the space to function as

The technician who did the scan told the reality star her results are in the “athlete category,” to which Kardashian excitedly exclaimed, “Athlete category! You hear that?”

The Skims founder also posted a video where the Bodyspec representative read out her bone density results, telling Kardashian her bones are stronger than 93 to 97 percent of the population.

Locally Owned Shoe Store Cuts Ribbon in Boardman – Business Journal Daily

BOARDMAN, Ohio — A shoe retailer can be found in nearly every shopping center in Boardman, but one local business is stepping up to give customers a more personalized option.

Status 330 owner Dominick Brown says that a local shoe store stands out from the shoe company giants because it directly benefits the community.

“An independent shoe store stands out from its competitors because it’s local. We want to be able to bring more local business to our community versus franchise business because we want to support local, and grow local,” Brown says.

The store, at 4302 Market St., sells mainly sneakers and a few apparel items. Brown says Yeezys and the Jordan and Air Max sneakers from Nike are some of the most popular styles and brands right now. He says that what he doesn’t have in store can easily be ordered – part of his promise to offer better, more personalized customer service than chain stores.

What is not in stock can be ordered, the owner says.

“We try to be as personal as possible to our customers. We want to focus on our customers and satisfy their needs. And we want them to walk out of here being happy about their purchase,” Brown says.

Brown conducted a ribbon-cutting ceremony Friday afternoon. His store opened for business on June 19, which he considers fitting given the Juneteenth holiday and being a Black-owned business.

Status 330 is his first venture into the business world, but he says it’s going well so far.

“More and more people are finding out about it, and we just want people to continue supporting local businesses regardless of what it is — it helps stabilize our community,” he says.

Customers Whitney Mace and Nicole Pancake say they like being able to

Reynoldsburg police are investigating a suspected arson fire Thursday morning at a barber shop and beauty salon.

Around 3:45 a.m. Thursday, fire crews were called to Grooves Barber and Beauty Salon, located at 6533 E. Livingston Ave., after a report of a fire there. The salon is located in the Blacklick Plaza strip mall, several storefronts down from a Reynoldsburg police substation.

According to the salon’s social media pages, the business also housed Aita’s African Braiding.

Caught on camera: $2 million in diamonds stolen from Bronx jewelry store

NEW YORK – A brazen robbery at a Bronx jewelry store was caught on camera Friday afternoon.

Police say that stolen jewelry was worth over $2 million.

As CBS2’s Alecia Reid reports, the robbery appeared to be all planned out. Witnesses say the thieves were in and out in less than a minute.

The shutters at Rocco’s Jewelry on Webster Avenue in Fordham Heights remain closed Saturday, but employees and detectives were inside.

Newly released surveillance images show a man in a white t-shirt, black jeans and black hat get buzzed in around 2:30 p.m. He then holds the door open for three others who are seen running down the street. They enter the store and use hammers to smash display cases. They then load the high-end jewels into bags they brought with them before taking off on foot.

Witnesses tell CBS2 the banging was so loud, they thought they were hearing gunshots.

“They came in, boom boom boom, in and out and gone,” one man said.

“Unfortunate. I’m sorry this happened to them. Unfortunate even though it’s probably insured, but this type of stuff happens,” another man said.

In addition to dark clothing, police say the three individuals who stole the merchandise were all wearing dark face masks and gloves.

Luckily, no one was hurt.

Anyone with any information is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477), or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782). You can also submit a tip via their website or via DM on Twitter, @NYPDTips

Kim Kardashian Reveals Body Fat Percentage After Met Gala Hate

Sharing her secrets! Kim Kardashian showed fans the “painful” procedure she uses to “tighten” her stomach months after receiving major backlash for her comments at the Met Gala about losing weight for the event.

“This is a game changer!!!” the reality star, 41, shared via Instagram Stories on Wednesday, August 3. “I did Morpheus laser to tighten my stomach at @drghavami’s spa @gpsaesthetics. I think it’s my fave laser but it’s painful lol but worth it!”

Later that same day, the reality star showed off the results after a scan that measured her “bone density & body fat percentage & all the good stuff to make sure you are fit and healthy.” In a separate series of Instagram Story posts, Kim wrote, “Takes about 7 minutes to get all the retails and do the body scan.”

Following her scan, Kim revealed that her bones are “stronger than 93-97% of people.” Her body fat percentage also went from 25 percent in 2021 to 18.8 percent during this scan, which she said put her in the “athlete category.”

The Skims founder’s recent social media posts come months after she received major backlash in May for revealing that she lost 16 pounds in order to fit into her Met Gala dress.

“I had to lose 16 pounds, down today, to be able to fit this but it was such a challenge. It was like a role. I was determined to fit,” she told real-life friend La La Anthony on the red carpet. “I don’t think they believed that I was going to do it, and I did it.”

At the New York City event, Kim wore the famed Bob Mackie dress the late Marilyn Monroe wore when she sang “Happy Birthday” to President John F. Kennedy
