Amy Cornwell, of Rosie Chic Beauty Lounge, said she was very surprised to have been announced as a finalist for the 10th English Hair and Beauty Awards 2023 for salon of the year.
The owner has salons in Beck Row, Bury St Edmunds and Brandon.
She added: “When I received the email to say I had been shortlisted, I originally thought it was spam!
“However, on further investigation and a few phone calls I was confirmed as a finalist for Beauty Salon of The Year 2023.”
Amy started her beauty business in 2018 while working alongside her day job in health and social care.
She said: “Despite the pandemic hitting, I continued to push and work hard to really get my business out there.
“I then made the leap and left my day job and went fully self-employed from 2021.
“I also took on a second location in February 2022 to broaden my client base.
“The past year has gone from strength to strength and I have taken on more in depth training, fine-tuned my craft and really developed my brand.”
Amy said that her salon offers a range of brow, lash and nail treatments, as well as the chat you did not know you needed.
She added: “Anyone who knows me, knows that I am a social person and always aim to make every appointment fun, relaxed and like you can’t wait to come back!
“I’m also a wife and a mother, and managed to make my life work around my family and love every moment.
“In the future for Rosie Chic I’m hoping to continue the fantastic name I’ve made for
